Project 1: LIFE BETWEEN BUILDINGS: USING PUBLIC SPACE
For the first part, students are to read Jan Gehl's Life Between Buildings (Chapter 1). Subsequently, the students are to examine patterns of social activities in a city (foreign city to be provided by lecturer) and identify 'contact points'. They are to classify the varying degrees of contact intensity.

Synopsis papers
This project aims to integrate our understanding of the principles of lighting design in the context our final design project of Design Studio 5. It will encompasses on artificial and daylighting systems also will implement the PSALI design strategies. We had to perform calculations to know the number of lights to be used and contour diagrams for each space.

Project 2: COMPARATIVE ESSAY
For the second part, students are required to write a comparative essay based on findings from case study (part 1) and local site reseach (studio). Students are to examine similarities and dissimilarities based on the patterns of social activities, types of 'contact points'. And the varying degrees of contact intensity between the two cities.
