PROJECT 2: Mini seminar
In this class project, we were to do a seminar by referring to the previous seminar we attended. Our topic was "ISSUES AND CHALLENGES OF ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATION IN MALAYSIA" and our case study was Georgetown, Penang. In this project we learned about how to make people aware of conservation through seminars. We also learned how it is prepared and carried out.
Architectural Conservation
PROJECT 1 : Preliminary Investigation of Historical Building
In this project we were required to study and produce a preliminary investigation report for a historical building. In the report we had to provide information on the owner, social and historical background and the objective for conservation. We also have to produced a set of detailed measured drawings. The class was split according to the task we were going to do which was the report, set of drawings and compilation.
PROJECT 3: Proposal for adaptive reuse
In a group of 5, we had to find a historical building and after investigating it, we were to propose an adaptive reuse. The investigation consists of social/ historical background, site context and dilapidation survey. The building we choose was the Bandar warisan, located in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur.
